Description: Third Annual MLK Jr. Family Day of Service Co-sponsored by YCS, the City of Palo Alto and Project Safety Net MONDAY, January 21, 11:00AM-3:00PM Lytton Plaza @ Emerson St & University Ave, Palo Alto The purpose of the event is to keep alive Dr. Martin Luther King's dream of justice and service. Dr. King said, "Everyone can be great, because anybody can serve. You only need a heart full of grace and a soul generated by love." During the day, both youth and adults will be able to join service activity tables and to visit agency displays to learn about ways to serve in 2013. High school and college students can assist elementary students with service activities. There will be an open mike and an open bulletin board so youth can share their dream for your neighborhood, your community or your world. Student musicians are invited to come and share their music to keep the dream alive. For a flyer click the event web page below and then select MLK EVENTS 2013.
