For the 2008-2009 academic year, YCS is partnering with the César Chávez Foundation and Youth Service California to integrate the teachings and core values of César Chávez into the middle school club activities in East Palo Alto. Drawing from the César Chávez framework, the YCS middle school clubs meet weekly to identify important community needs, and to design and implement service projects that meet those needs.

East Palo Clubs are located at Belle Haven, Edison McNair, 49ers/Costaño, EPA Charter, James Flood, and Cesar Chavez.

YCS will also lead service learning clubs at three middle schools in Palo Alto: Jordan, JLS, and Terman. Students will work with the YCS Palo Alto club leader to identify community needs and to design and implement service learning projects that meet those needs.
